Rom├ín is about to take his own life on a deserted train line, when, loosened by a gust of wind, a piece of billboard containing the word "mars" hits him and forces him out of the way. It is actually a piece of an ad  "Marsh Apartments at derisory prices; come and find out more" but Roman takes it as a sign: he must travel with the new colonies to the red planet. At the same time, in a small town in Lithuania, two old men, tapping into one of their pasts as a cosmonaut, set up a disastrous enterprise to train future Martian settlers. Roman travels to Lithuania in the middle of winter with his girlfriend. There, instead of learning to fly in space, he will receive the coordinates for his new journey around the world.
